JSSC Meeting
24 July 2020 @ 7:30 pm - 10:00 pm
JOINT SERVICES SOCIAL CLUB (JSSC) UPDATE/NEWSLETTER
It’s been about 6 months since we had the initial meeting to propose the formation of the JSSC in the pool room of the Manx Legion Club and around 10 weeks since we last sent out an update about what’s been happening since that first meeting.
Obviously, the Coronavirus Pandemic forced us to do the only logical thing and delay an actual ‘Going Live’ date of the JSSC until we could see some sort of light at the end of the tunnel, we as a committee now feel we are at that point and need to take the next step and and ask people to join and start paying annual subscriptions to the club so that we can get on and organise the first of what will hopefully be many JSSC social events.
We now have an up and running website – http://jssc.im – So please pay it a visit. It’s easy to navigate and you sign up by using the online form under the ‘How To Join’ tab. You will also find on here the mission statement of the JSSC, our constitution and our aims and how to contact us, should you have any questions or queries?
We also have a profile on Facebook (Jssc Iom) which we will use to advertise and announce things from time to time in the ‘British Military & Veterans Isle of Man’ Facebook Group.
WHAT HAPPENS NOW?
Firstly, we hope that all of you and your families have emerged out of lockdown with your health intact!
The Coronavirus Pandemic is far from over, but here in the Isle of Man as we are taking the first steps into some sort sort of normality, the JSSC would like to invite all potential members to a Social Evening.
FRIDAY 24th July 2020
Manx Legion Club, Douglas
19:30
The plan is to meet up so that we, as a committee can introduce ourselves and give you the chance to ask questions about what we plan to do and what you’re going to get for your annual subscriptions, which we intend to start taking in August from those who wish to become members.
Then we want to get to be able to do the thing that the entire concept of the JSSC enshrines and organise some proper events in the form of a Black Tie Dinner towards the end of the year and possibly a Horse Racing Night prior to that.
The committee really hopes that you’ll come along to the Manx Legion Club, we’ll say our bit and then over a few beers you can get the lamp swinging, pull up a sandbag and tell everyone how you survived lockdown!
We really look forward to seeing you on July 24th.
